Inspiration
Old school flash games have always been a great way to relax and have fun for a while for us and they inspired us to combine some of their mechanincs into an innovative and creative particle-based tower defense.
What it does
You are in control of a wizard that is in a mission to save the world that can summon different elements/particles (though we didn't have enough time to implement all of them nor the interactions between them) to stop different monsters.
How we built it
Mostly with Unity with C#.
Challenges we ran into
We did not have a lot of experience in Unity so we ran into some newbie's problems. We did also tried to implement a first version of the game with a data structure that did not fit Unity's scheme which made it very hard to developed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The idea was innovative and all team members where very exited about it.
What we learned
Unity was hard harder than expected because it was hard to adapt the more conventional software architecture patterns and algorithms that usually helped us but in this case hindered us.
What's next for Wizard saves the world
Probably try to implement it in a different language with much more time and love <3
How to play
Select an element (top left) and start dropping it into the enemies. The higher you drop a particle, the more damage is dealt to them. You can also create walls and mountains of particles to stop enemies from getting any further. Use the money gained from defeating enemies to buy and upgrade your factories and produce more materials. You must avoid the enemies from getting past you (Tip: you can reset the level by pressing R). Below the factories there are your lives, and at the other side of the screen there are the number of particles that you own and the money that you have.
