Inspiration

I was inspired by the Halloween season and by the idea of taking refuge in a dream vacation — a journey between reality and fantasy. The contrast between a calm beach and a witch traveling through dreams gave life to the concept of “Witch’s Dream Loop.”

What it does

The video tells the story of a witch who crosses the boundary between dream and reality through magic and her assistant — the cat, who tries in every way first to wake her up and then brings her back to the starting point, restarting the dream, surfing toward her and generating the wave that awakens her, closing the loop. She endlessly moves between her world and ours, visually exploring the thin line that separates imagination from consciousness.

How I built it

I started by writing a detailed storyboard to define the narrative flow and visual composition.
Then I generated the first base image — a woman in a bikini on the beach — using Flux Dev on ComfyUI.
With Qwen Image Edit and Qwen Image Edit 2025, I created variations of the keyframes to animate scenes on the beach and in the bedroom with the mischievous cat.
I refined several frames using Photopea, then re-imported them into ComfyUI, animating everything with a Frame2Frame workflow in Wan 2.2.
For the soundtrack, I generated the audio with Suno, trimmed it in Audacity, and then assembled the 20 resulting clips in CapCut to resize them from 640×640 to 1080×1080 and combine them into a single video.
Finally, I imported the result into After Effects, synchronized the timing using time stretching to match the music, and rendered the final version using Media Encoder.
All prompts for image generation, animation, and audio creation were generated with the assistance of Claude.

Challenges I ran into

The main challenges were maintaining consistent lighting and character coherence during transitions, balancing the surreal aesthetic without losing narrative clarity.

Accomplishments I’m proud of

I’m proud of the smooth transition effects I was able to achieve using artificial intelligence as a support tool alongside image manipulation software like Photopea.

What I learned

This project helped me improve workflow integration between multiple artificial intelligence tools and creative software, especially in managing frame consistency and timing precision across different environments.

What’s next for Witch’s Dream Loop

I’m not sure if I will make other videos on this theme, but it definitely served as a test and practice to experiment with these various technologies, which I find truly spectacular when combined to enhance my productivity and make my creativity tangible. Certainly, in the future, I will use these tools even better as I become more familiar with them.
