Background to building this app -

Most of us live busy lifestyles and one major pain point we have is that we keep forgetting our personal and professional friends birthdays / anniversaries and key event dates and don’t get to wish them. This puts us in an embarrassing position several times.

While social media has proved to be very successful in connecting people on individual platforms, we at wishMonkey felt that we needed a single platform that reminded us of key events / dates and thus enables us to connect with others in various ways. A platform that is very easy to use and simple.

Wishing someone is a very joyous and happy experience to both parties (one who wishes and especially to the one who receives the wish) and we needed a simple mobile app which would notify the user daily of key dates and events allowing them to wish anyone anywhere at any given point of time anyway they choose.

wishMonkey - What is it?

An amazing new, simple and completely original app which allows the user to wish anyone (making them happy) anywhere at any given point of time using different platforms.

It reminds the user on a daily basis (as a notification at a pre-set time) whose birthday / anniversary / key event it is.

It sends notifications if it is a festival and gives the user an opportunity to wish any one and also wish all.

A social media hub, which gives the user a wide range of options to wish all contacts. The option to call the friend directly or send the person a wish through - an email - a text message - a Facebook / google + post - a LinkedIn message - a WhatsApp message - a twitter post - Instagram - Skype - Snapchat - Vine.

Most importantly it is a very simple, attractive and easy to use app that caters to all age users across the globe.

Calling and wishing someone is a very Happy experience, thereby positively impacting lives of people.

What all does the app do?

Other than enabling users to make calls to wish, app also allows to:

• Post (Facebook, Google +, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Twitter) / SMS / Email either a personalized or a pre-defined (user will not need to type anything) wish.

• Post (Facebook, Google +, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter) / Email an e-card (Personalized / Predefined – inbuilt E-Card Templates). Multiple E-Card templates provided which user can choose from to send Predefined Video Messages.

• Post a Video Wish Message (Facebook, Google +, Snapchat, Vine, WhatsApp) (Personalized / Predefined – use inbuilt Video templates). App allows user to take a video of him / her wishing their friend and also allows to send by email / post the video on multiple social media platforms. Multiple video templates have also been provided within the app which user can choose from to send Predefined video Messages.

• App allows user to buy and send a Gift. User can buy gifts / flowers / movie vouchers / restaurant vouchers, etc from various e-commerce and regular sites (constantly being updated) across the globe.

• App allows user to use Skype to call friend to wish

• App allows user to send Wish Tweets

• App allows user to send Direct Video message to contacts on Snapchat

• App allows user to send wish / e-card / video messages to groups on WhatsApp

• App allows user to receive daily wish reminder notifications on their mobile screen. Time to receive these notifications are user defined and can be edited. On swiping notification, screen with friend’s photo opens up and user can wish using multiple options

Import your personal contacts from Facebook, Google + OR your professional contacts from LinkedIn OR your contacts from Phone book.

• App allows user to view all Upcoming Birthdays / Anniversaries / Festivals and Professional Events (like work anniversaries).

• App will provide user a Wish All functionality (being build) – which allows user to send a standard wish message / e-card / video message to all his/her contacts by email at one time. This can be useful especially when one wants to wish all their friends together (eg., New Year wish).

Where we are -

Android – App just launched on Google Play. iOS –Should be available in App Store in next few days. Tablets – Tablet version being build. Target to launch by end Jan 15. Awaiting – review by Apple and Facebook team. App is still very new and has some bugs, which are being fixed on a daily basis and new versions being released.

Finally, Should Happiness have a cost?

NO. Happiness can’t be bought but has to be shared. And we at wishMonkey are here to spread joy and happiness without any cost. Our App is completely free and can be downloaded and used by anyone anywhere.
