Fostering our inspiration, expression, play ability, and progression#
The original wishing WELL was just a meditative art world. This new and improved ''wishing WELL" inspired us to continue to engage our art talent encompassed with innovative game play with a unified story line. A little mobile game called “idle planet” where little rockets transport goods across planets inspired this new and elevated wishing WELL. In this elevated wishing WELL, the player immediately knows the tasks to be done, as an alien spacecraft crashed into the sun, it entered our solar system and dispersed cute alien creatures across our planetary system. our inspired story theme continues by collecting these alien creatures and bringing them to an environmentally rich land. Progression is visualized on leader and quest boards.
Building and Elevating the new "wishing WELL"#
** Textures** The use of textures on our solar system planets creates a fantasy like world in order to build and elevate the original world. Game Play Game play is now interactive. The player immediately sees that there are very friendly aliens to save by grabbing them. This Collecting game play is accomplished by a parkour of textured brightly colored spinning solar system planets. A rest spot is implemented to make a happy wish. Progression Progression starts with the alien spaceship crashing. the next progression is gathering the aliens across the solar system, and then immediately teleporting the aliens to their new home. the final progression is placing the aliens into their proper homes. Lastly, fireworks and congratulations are given to the players for a job well done.
"wishing WELL" part one#
The first part of the "wishing WELL, the player immediately sees a spaceship crash into our solar system requiring player to collect aliens to find a new home.
"wishing WELL part two"
Part two begins in the alien's new home where some aliens are misplaced and need to find their homes. Players have to peruse some mazes and the scenery to locate the misplaced aliens. Additionally, player needs to solve and place the alien creatures in their proper homes. A quest board is supplied to keep track of the players progress.
** Motivation** My motivation was to build a better world, and I was driven by my own creativity. This time around, I was determined to have the best team ever, and my team was exceptional. My team helped me to learn new design techniques, new language, new editors, new scripting and Meta Horizon verbiage.
additionally, I considered player motivation. I wanted the player to be engaged in the game within the first 20 seconds and implemented a mobile friendly parkour to grab cute aliens. the player is motivated to accomplish these tasks successfully by completing the fun spinning parkour, make their happy wish, dive into planet teleportation to see a new and exciting world full of adventurous mazes and colorful land to complete this puzzle portion of the world. The player additionally needs to solve where each alien in fact lives. Each alien owns their own home. The addition of a puzzle to solve correctly, releases those feel good endorphins. Additionally, The player is motivated by sound, and shooting stars, and the northern lights and a finale of shooting stars and a congratulations. Additionally, the player is motivated to complete filling the quest board. Just in case, arrow hints help the player.
Challenges we ran into
Originally, we were focused on creating a look alike of HIGHLIGHTS and finding objects in pictures with increasingly difficult puzzles The challenge and eventual throw away of this idea was the constraints in the mobile environment. As beginners, we could not touch the differences, difficulty in shooting the differences, so another route had to be taken. We chose simple, moderate, and complex mazes and landscapes where aliens ( little sweet creatures ) are waiting to be released into their new environment with suitable homes where they love to eat willow trees.
** Accomplishments**
our accomplishments include and we are proud of:
Installing beautifully textured spinning planets
Including the original wishing wells
Using typescript and the desktop editor, and blender
Using genai capabilities for scripting and assets
Creating an imaginative story line
Creating an amazing alien world for these creatures including homes and environments
Lastly, we elevated the world by creating an additional puzzle game for the players
none of these existed in the original wishing WELL world.
We learned #
each member of the team has a speciality: One is a design architect, One is fine detailing One loves genai One loves scripting
Our world is kid friendly and grown up friendly, with no commercial interruptions. Additionally, the team believes we have a winner compared to the original.
