Inspiration

I was inspired to create a website that taught children about winter in a fun and engaging way.

What it does

Interactive ways for children to learn about winter. It can be used for general interest, and to keep children occupied in an educational way.

How we built it

I am new to HTML, CSS and JS, and used W3Schools to teach myself the techniques, as well as CodeAcademy for a basic structure.

Challenges we ran into

Unfortunately, I did not manage to get the map of the world to work, showing how winter is celebrated in different continents, which meant the website wasn't finished.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that the fact page is animated, as well as the logo at the top of the pages.

What we learned

I learnt that next time I should not over-complicate my idea for the website, as it was extremely time pressured and I didn't finish it.

What's next for Winter Wonderland

I want the map to work so it is more educational, and I would also like to implement more interactive activities, such as quizzes and videos.
