Inspiration

Every year I build a Christmas world. This year I wanted to make something really engaging and something my community can enjoy during the holiday

What it does

Try on some ugly sweaters and Throw Snowballs. Take a couple laps around the ice rink and collect the all the Christmas Gifts. Be careful though, the Polar Bear definitely bites.

How we built it

Using auto aim and the throwing mechanic I was able to create a throwing mechanic for mobile players along with a snowball cannon with auto aim. then with the polar bear I used nave mesh for the bears navigation. lastly the ice ring is using local skate controller scripts to record the players speed and direction and to the slide the player in the direction of momentum.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into some issue with the mobile interaction of throwing the snowball. after finding some APIs on the throwing logic I was able to connect it to the same auto aim logic I create for the snowball cannon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was a world I tested myself to build in 3 days and I'm very happy with the interactions I've had with friends while playing the game.

What we learned

The auto aim mechanic was fun to work on and made me exited to work on more ways to make my games more mobile friendly when it comes to projectiles.

What's next for Snowball Fight

I plan to use Snowball Fight in my family of worlds to keep my community entertained. Using cross-worlds systems, Player Persistent Variable, and Quest Rewards the world will be used for many different events.
