Inspiration

Inspired by our dear friend who went overseas to study during COVID-19, he felt very lonely and stranded abroad because of the pandemic, and found that it was hard to search for and access e-services such as registering for a banking account, searching for travel restrictions and swabbing requirements. It was even more difficult to make friends and connect with others. Thus, we were motivated to develop a Singaporean-friendly chatbot which is able to provide companionship, while overcoming all of the problems mentioned, and possibly help to minimize home-sickness.

What it does

Chatbot that provides easy access to essential e-services, links to all things Singaporean, providing opportunities for lonely and stranded Singaporeans craving social comfort away from home.

Challenges we ran into

Limited abilities for storage and retrieval of data working with Facebook Messenger API as well as privacy concerns

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to develop a decent chatbot with no guidance in a short amount of time
