Inspiration
Creating a unique first person multiplayer fighting game.
What it does
-Realistic sword animations -Global multiplayer server and client capabilities -Synchronization of state machines and animations -Interactive GUI
How We built it
-Unity game engine for physics and foundation -Blender for modeling and animations -PiskelApp for 2D Sprites and UI design -Photon PUN for networking and synchronization
Challenges We ran into
-Blender not importing correctly -Time constraints for a multiplayer game -Setting up Photon -Blender work randomly deleting itself
Accomplishments that We're proud of
-Actually completing the first prototype for the project -Somewhat realistic animations and accurate synchronization -Sheer work hours saved
What We learned
-How to network in Unity through Photon PUN -Properly setting up animations and collisions -Procedural generation of GUI
What's next for WingScythe Arena
-Loads of more features -Visual effects and coloring -Proper character models -More weapons -Skills -Artificial Intelligence -Combos -Fluid Movement Controls -Background Music -Story line and difficulty scaling -Advanced movement mechanics -Player Classes
