Use Case Title:👌

Converting Assignment/ Past Questions into Crash Courses Materials for Enhanced Learning using the custum PaLM 2 api (via Wingman) and Engineered prompts.

Description:

You can use PaLM 2 api(via Wingman) as a tool Create crash course tailor to your needs for learning challenging concepts in your field of study. Do this by communicating your a problem, it might be a Past question/Homework. followed up by "an additional prompt that containes the topics that you are comfortable with/ your level of knowlege" (optional) examples:

Tutorial for Use and Best Practices:

1. Wingman's Homework to Crashcourse a. Type into Wingman Explain [ your question eg:2+2] , "I am familar with [ your current knowledg level eg: I know how to multiply. Note:This is optional if you don't mind getting a general crash course. b. Best Practices: i. Always ensure that the input question is clear and specific to get the most accurate results. ii. Compare the generated crash course with additional resources or textbooks to confirm accuracy. iii. Use "Wingman" as a supplementary tool to aid understanding, not as a sole source for learning.

2. Using wingman's templates: a. While trying to type into Wingman searchbar, you will get a list of suggested prompt template that use can use to make your generated course more fitted for you. b.Best Practices: i. Always ensure that the input question is clear and specific to get the most accurate results. ii. Compare the generated crash course with additional resources or textbooks to confirm accuracy. iii. Use "Wingman" as a supplementary tool to aid understanding, not as a sole source for learning.

3. Validating Understanding: a. Use the #hints provied by Wingman in the post assesment questions that wingman will give you at the end of the course. at the end of most crash course, Wingman will give you two complex questions to test your understanding of the crash course. b. Best Practices: i. Click on export promt at the lower- right section of this screen and past it in another LLM app like GPT-3 or 4 and compare the contents of both course contents ii. You can also copy the entire generated course and Prefix it with the prompt " Find the errors in this course content" and past it in another LLM app like GPT-3 or 4

Impact on Learning:

Educational Implications: "Wingman" significantly affects the depth of learning by converting assignment questions into easily digestible crash courses. This use case addresses the common issue of time constraints and the complexity of assignments. " this as been personally helping me with my studies by not only serving as a tool for revison when ever i do my homework, but also helps me to revisit terms i might have forgotten from the course source of the homework"

Specific Aspect of Learning: Without "Wingman," learners would typically spend more time deciphering complex assignment questions, which could hinder their overall learning progress. With the tool, they can quickly gain a foundational understanding of the topic." Wingman personally helps me to tackle even questions under new topics I haven't done before by laying some blocks of knowlege for me to step on befor givving me a detailed solution to my original question"

Advantages:

  • Rapid comprehension of complex topics.
  • Efficient use of study time."With Wingman, I do not spend less time studying but wingman has helped me in studying more than i use to within the sae Timeframe."
  • Increased self-confidence in tackling assignments.
  • Enhanced retention of information due to simplified explanations." it has helped me alot cause i dont just study to memorize or understand anymore, I go through the course knowing that i am studying to Apply" the knowlege""

Limitations and Ethical Considerations:

Drawbacks:

  • "Wingman" may oversimplify some topics, potentially omitting nuanced details." I have noticed this in my more advance engineering courses."
  • There's a risk of over-reliance on the tool, leading to a lack of critical thinking and problem-solving skills."I can see my future self slowly drifting away from doing personal research on my courses"
  • The quality of crash courses may vary based on the complexity of the input question." sometimes wingman generates practices question for some courses and sometimes it doesn't

Ethical Considerations:

  • "Wingman" must ensure the validity of AI-generated results by employing robust fact-checking and quality control mechanisms.
  • The tool should be transparent about the limitations of its simplifications to prevent potential misconceptions.
  • Users should be aware of the tool's role as a learning aid rather than a replacement for traditional learning methods.

My personal Conclusion:

  • I honestly see AI in classrooms as a tool to help compensate for the problems that the students of this generation are currently facing that are hindering our learning. I don't think the LLM implementations we have at the moment are ready or reliable enough to be fully depended on or to serve as the backbone of the human education system.
  • I feel like a Ethics-body should also be put in place to monitor how AI will be used to aid the education system and to formulate rules and ensure that these rules are not broken. For example, all LLM personalized learning tools must undergo an LLM poisoning test.
