Inspiration
We all ran into situations where we have emergency issues, or change of plans to our travel plan. In this case, even you are just boring, you could open the app, to see where is recommended by our app and other users to visit. By building preferences through swipes, we can provide our user the recommendation that suits them the most.
What it does
It suggests recommendation places to travel based on user's location or user's preference city, based on popularity, ratings, user preference, and many other factors to push these places to users to choose in a Tinder-swipe environment and choose where they like while we also collect their data for preferences.
How we built it
We use Typescript, Javascript for backend, and HTML, Javascript, CSS for front end. Separated into functionality, many modules, functions, helper functions were created.
Challenges we ran into
Main challenge we ran into are dependency issues, where each teammate have a different version of the library, and that messes our git repository up. We spend a lot of time to figure this out as this is not that straight forward.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully implemented all our backend logic and showed it in the frontend, and it actually works, not hard-coding.
What we learned
We all learned teamwork, new coding language, and design specs about a software program.
What's next for Wing It
We would enhance and fully implement Wing It to another level, which we will use stronger AI, better pictures, and better UX overall.
