Inspiration

Willow was inspired by our own mothers and the quiet strength they show every day. We wanted to turn appreciation into action by building a real support system around them. The empowering, community-driven spirit of HackHer further reinforced our belief that care should be shared ,not carried alone. With Easter approaching , a season centered around birth and new beginnings, we reflected on how celebrations often revolve around children, yet so much of that joy is thoughtfully created and carried by mothers. Inspired by both our moms and the empowering community at HackHer, we wanted to transform appreciation into tangible support. No mother should have to carry care alone It is a trusted support network for mothers, blending medical guidance, childcare, and community, powered help into one platform.

What Willow does?

From finding nearby clinics to booking babysitters, requesting household support, or receiving thoughtful care packages, Willow ensures moms get the help they need, when they need it. Because motherhood shouldn’t feel isolating, it should feel supported.

Challenges we faced

One of our biggest challenges was integrating multiple Google services across the frontend and backend while keeping the architecture clean. On the backend, we used Vertex AI to retrieve clinic and doctor location data, then converted AI-generated addresses into coordinates using the Google Geocoding API so they could be rendered on Google Maps. We also spent time customizing the map’s styling and markers to match Willow’s calming aesthetic, while maintaining a polished frontend with subtle animations.
