Inspiration

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to interview a historic person? Our project aims to create an engaging and memorable experience, with a natural and individual dialogues.

What it does

Nothing less than bringing Charles III. William, margrave of Baden-Durlach and founder of the city of Karlsruhe, back to life! The chatbot knows about facts from Charles' life, allowing users to have a vivid, interactive dialog with this historic figure.

How we built it

The backend is based on the GPT implementation by HuggingFace. The frontend uses VanillaJS.

Challenges we ran into

The bot has a hard time remembering long personas, and will sometimes give answers that are incoherent with it.

What we learned

The quality of GPT's output is amazing.

What's next for William

It would be nice to give it facts about the exposition and the museum, so that the bot can refer visitors to interesting exhibits and actually talk about them.
