Inspiration

puts"According to data from 2018, approximately 2,267 people were killed, 4917 were injured, and 107 animals, including some endangered species, were killed in the Wildlife-vehicle collisions. Both humans and animals are losing their lives due to these collisions Hence solving this problem would aid in the prevention of wildlife-animal collisions. As a result, we can save both human and animal lives Saving lives is more important than any other goal."

What it does

puts" • We usually travel at high speeds on highways.

• With the help of an ultrasonic sensor and radar, any obstacles/animals on the road are detected at a safer distance while driving.

• If an obstacle or animal is detected, the system warns the driver by displaying a warning message on the LCD/LED display and sounding an alert. This warning alerts the driver, allowing him or her to manually apply the brakes.

• If the driver fails to apply the brakes despite warnings, the automatic braking system is activated by the microcontroller. As a result, accidents are avoided"

How we built it

puts"Since we lacked physical components, We simulated our project in an online simulation platform called 'TinkerCAD' ."

Challenges we ran into

puts"Maintenance/Service - Since the sensors are located in the front of the vehicle, the temperature around them is quite high, making it essential to service them on a regular basis. Installation /Integration - The process of integrating the model into the vehicles will cost us both time and money Changes to habits/process – The transition from manual to automatic braking is a significant step. Most of people don’t trust machines. So, it takes time to build trust. "

Accomplishments that we're proud of

puts "Our model has high accuracy. It is of low cost and can also can be installed in all model of cars irrespective of their cost."

What we learned

puts "We learnt about the braking mechanism, working of radar and ultrasonic sensor"

What's next for Wildlife detection with Automatic Braking System

puts "Implementing our model in real life with the help of automobile industries"
