We were inspired to create a wildfire detection system after we realized that wildfires are a major problem all over the world, and there has so far not been an easy way to prevent them.

Our wildfire detection system uses image recognition to recognize wildfires while they are still small. So firefighters can extinguish them before anything catastrophic can occur.

We built our wildfire detection system using image recognition and a bunch of wildfire photos as well as regular terrain then inputted the code to a project on glitch.

A big challenge we ran into was the image recognition system wasn't even close to perfect. Lots of stuff like people, sunsets, and clouds were often being mistaken for wildfires. However, after adding a bunch more photos, our image recognition was much more reliable and usable.

We are proud that we accomplished our big goal, which was to create a glitch project that could detect wildfires. We are also proud that our code works as intended and it can potentially save lives.

We learned how to code website development, how image recognition works, and that teamwork is very important in projects like this one.

Wildfire detection camera's can be put on poles to detect wildfires 24/7. We hope this can greatly change the world and wildfires will never be a problem ever again.
