Inspiration

  • Our first thought was to provide something that would help people to grow from a kitten mentality into a lion one
  • We found the necessity of having a customized, structured, actionable and industry aligned career growth plan
  • This idea came to us after being faced with tedious excels about Job responsibilities as well as our desire to evolve

What it does

  • It helps people who are in need of a career evolution plan by giving them areas of improvement based on their seniority level adapted to current industry standards

How we built it

  • With endless coffees, a lot of sweat and tears
  • We built two platforms. One API using Docker, Open AI API and PHP and one frontend app using Next.js, React, Material UI, Tailwind and Shadcn. After integrating them, we deployed them using Google Cloud Platform.

Challenges we ran into

  • setting up the project because we had a bunch of hiccups on the way as Google Cloud Platform was a new technology for us as well as starting to code using Next.js
  • a prior tiredness

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • As we worked together, we found ourselves switching roles with our teammates as well as roles from outside the team, offering feedback and support across disciplines. Cristina helped Theo fine-tune his design, brought together the ideas as a Business Analyst would and at times she was the team's Scrum Master. Cristi F collaborated with Andreea on frontend optimizations. Cristi G not only brainstormed with Iulia ways to enhance user engagement, but also he set up the project using Docker while Theo provided valuable insights into usability and accessibility.
  • We managed to push through tiredness and really came together as a team, laughing along the way

  • Designing data visualization from a JSON file

What's next for Wildcats

  • The ability to upload a CV in a PDF format in order to extract and prefill the data inside the form
  • This idea can be extended by adding a feature that analyzes a LinkedIn profile (it would be easier for users to populate the form with relevant work related data) -> this could be a paid feature available for premium users
