Wild West Water Worries

Inspiration

Our inspiration was the current environmental problems the west is facing! We know when people think about the west, they think about cowboys! However, when we thought of the west, we thought about the detrimental water issues the west is currently facing!

What it does

Our website educates people about the water quality and scarcity issues in the West. It also gives them access to resources such as petitions and organizations that they can use to further educate themselves about and impact the water issues in the West.

How I built it

Our team used the IDE Repl.it to create our website. The languages we used in this website include Javascript, CSS, and HTML.

Challenges I ran into

One of the challenges that our team ran into included making a cowboy hat favicon to embellish our browser tab. We also had problems with getting a cowboy hat cursor on our page. Another feature that was difficult for us was making a color-changing title. However, we overcame these challenges and they are now features on our website.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

An accomplishment that we are proud of is overcoming the challenges that we faced. Another accomplishment would be registering a domain for the first time, building a website even though we are all beginners, and creating the fun website name "Wild West Water Worries."

What I learned

By doing research, we ourselves learned about the water issues in the Western United States. We also learned how to correctly use margins and padding. Having never worked together before, we came together as a team to build our website.
