Inspiration Our curiosity about how people got their news during the presidential elections of 2016. Do people trust news websites or do they feel wikipedia is good enough?
What it does We explore trend lines of various topics such as presidential primary candidates, celebrities and general terms. Comparing the trend lines of the topics through wikipedia page view data and google trends data gives us the opportunity to make cautious inferences about whether people trust wikipedia for the different topics
How I built it
Challenges I ran into The wikipedia page view data was split across 70000+ files. Data collection and cleaning process alone took over a day (running on 5 AWS EC2 instances)
