WikiOS is an open-source browser-oriented open-source project developed by GitHub developer blackmatriXblack, evolved from the developer’s prior CmdWebOS terminal-based web operating system and built primarily with front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript to run fully inside mainstream web browsers without extra local installation or backend server deployment. Centered around wiki-style knowledge management fused with lightweight simulated operating system capabilities, WikiOS combines a built-in editable wiki document system and an in-browser virtual file system, enabling users to create, edit, archive and interlink wiki knowledge articles while managing virtual directories and files via intuitive graphical or simple command operations within the simulated web OS environment. Designed mainly for programming beginners, front-end practitioners and personal knowledge management enthusiasts, this open repository allows free code cloning, secondary modification and personalized feature expansion, serving as both a practical demo for learning frontend development and virtual OS implementation logic as well as a handy local web-based personal wiki knowledge base solution.
