Inspiration

Inspired by our friends and "wibes". What better way to share "wibes" than with music!

What it does

WibeCheck is a music recommendation app that analyzes facial expressions using an emotion-detector API called Luxand to detect emotions and generate a personalized playlist based on the detected mood. Each curated dataset suggests songs that match various emotions such as happy, sad, angry, neutral, and sleepy.

How we built it

Frontend: React(Vite), JavaScript, css, HTML

API & Tools: Spotify API, Luxand (Emotion detection API)

Challenges we ran into

Currently our entire devpost didn't save our markdown that we created :( We had to scrap our backend the first time we created our project and focused all our efforts onto the frontend which really paid off in the end

We're incredibly proud of the aesthetic and design of our project. We learned frontend application really well too.

What's next for WibeCheck

Our next goals are to integrate a Stripe payment platform for a paid version of our web application. The paid version will include Dense Facial Landmarks to locate facial features and facial contours into reading an emotion to turn into a playlist based on the live emotion.

We also plan on creating a database for users and authenticating them with next-auth to use our application.
