Motivation Behind the Project

The inspiration for this project came from a very common real-life problem: most people set alarms with good intentions, but when the alarm rings, they simply snooze it and go back to sleep. I noticed that traditional alarm apps only wake people physically, not mentally. People often forget why they wanted to wake up early in the first place.

I wanted to create something more meaningful — an alarm app that reminds users of their own goals and responsibilities at the exact moment they wake up. The idea was to make the alarm feel personal and motivational instead of annoying.

What the Project Does

This project is an AI-powered motivational alarm app. Users can:

  • Set alarms using a smooth AM/PM time selector
  • Choose custom date ranges for repeated alarms
  • Write a personal reason or goal before saving the alarm
  • Hear their own reason repeated during the alarm through AI voice playback
  • Experience a calming and modern glassmorphism-inspired interface

The main feature is that the app continuously reminds users why they woke up, helping reduce snoozing and increasing discipline.

How I Built It

I built this project using MeDo AI App Builder and tested different features . I used AI-generated workflows and prompts to design the interface, implement the alarm system, create the voice reminder functionality, and improve the user experience.

The app includes:

  • Background alarm services
  • Voice playback synchronization
  • Date-range scheduling
  • Smooth scroll-based selectors
  • AI-generated UI/UX design

Challenges I Faced

One of the biggest challenges was making the alarm work reliably in the background, especially when the device screen was locked. Another issue was voice playback delay — initially, the AI voice took several seconds to respond after the alarm stopped, which reduced the effectiveness of the reminder system.

I also spent time improving the interface because I did not want the app to look plain or outdated. I experimented with glassmorphism, smooth animations, and calming visual styles to make the app feel modern and attractive.

What I Learned

This project taught me a lot about:

  • User psychology and habit-building
  • Mobile app UI/UX design
  • Background task optimization
  • AI-assisted app development
  • The importance of solving real-world problems with simple ideas

I also learned that even a small daily problem can inspire a creative solution when approached differently.

Final Thoughts

This project is more than just an alarm app. It is a productivity and motivation tool designed to help people stay disciplined and focused on their goals. My aim was to transform a simple everyday action — waking up — into a more intentional and meaningful experience.
