Inspiration
We where tired of all the online dating apps that focus on creating a relationship virtually. We wanted something that removed the length of the usual online conversations.
What it does
Pushes people's back to help find friends using geolocation capabilities.
How we built it
We used Node.JS as our back-end and React.JS as our front-end to be capable of using only one language for the entire project.
Challenges we ran into
On our team only one member knew how to program using theses languages. Getting started was quite long as there was a big learning curve.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We didn't know if we could have a working app in such a tight timeline. We kind of made it with a "usable" but not fully featured app.
What we learned
For the four of us, it was the first time working in a team so we learned how to work more efficiently together. Also, the deadline was really short so it was a first time under real pressure. For the three that never touched to JavaScript before, it was a great way of learning quickly the bases of the language.
What's next for Who Wants Me Now!?
The Web app is far from being finished. We hope in the next weeks to continue working on it to make way better and more usable and possibly publish it on the app stores in the near future.
To test the project
You can run npm start and gulp to test the projet (made for mobile devices screen sizes) https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=79A4FDD796895B88!367105&authkey=!APAB1PHJvM0KinA&ithint=file%2czip
