Inspiration
Grandparents play an important role in our lives and personally, I love caring for mine. However, its difficult arranging an ideal time for family members to spend quality time and companionship with distanced loved ones such as grandparents. Additionally, miscommunication and scarce availability amongst family is a big issue when trying to keep track of whose turn it is to care for a loved one from time to time. Our solution: ‘Who’s Got Mom’ - it efficiently schedules, manages, and assigns a caretaker for your loved one through a shared schedule. Users can set up a session event, assign a designated caretaker, and upload information including as dates, time, and general information of the session. It's useful for family and friends alike to keep tabs of those who are a distance away.

How we built it
We used FastAPI to integrate Supabase with our React website. We made our Supabase data accessible and editable through our user interface.
Challenges we ran into
Unable to properly integrate authentication with CORS middleware. Had to switch to local hosting due to lack of better alternatives.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Relational many-tomany database accessible, secure, and interactive exclusively through our website UI.
What we learned
Don't make monorepos in Vercel!
What's next for Who's Got Mom?
Add Google Calendar or similar alternative to track and plan schedules between group members. Implement email or SMS notifications to ensure squad members maintain clear and quick communication.
