Inspiration
Making notes and organising thoughts can sometimes be tricky if you don’t have a whiteboard or sticky notes available. Or maybe you don’t even have the space where you are.
What it does
This application solves just that… Giving a whiteboard and notes that uses Azure speech to text to quickly organising your thoughts and getting them down on “paper”
How we built it
The application was built using the latest features in MRTK 3. Using the built in buttons, object manipulators, themes, hands and more made the creation of this app much easier that other methods. The drawing is done using a big MRTK button that register how much the user has pushed and changes the radius of the drawing based on the push distance. The notes uses the built int MRTK slates and the Azure speech API for an excellent speech transcription.
Challenges we ran into
The MRTK 3 is build from the ground up, so a lot of the components and features are new and has to be learned. But with good documentation from the Microsoft website it felt fun to learn about all the new components
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I feel the application solves a lot of what it’s trying to do and was a lot of fun to build
What we learned
I learned a lot about MRTK 3 and Azure speech services
What's next for Whiteboard anywhere
I would love to implement sharing for a multi user experience with the help of azure spatial anchors.
