"White Night - A Friend in the dark" is a game taking place in the White Night universe (game from OSome Studio). Concept Concept

Style: The game is definitely some survival horror game, but in this case you have to help the hero to not die. It's some fixed-camera game, as you are living inside picture frames.

Visuals: As White Night, visuals will be pure black and white rendering with outlines. Inveractive objects are slightly colored.

Story: You are a ghost, living on a manor. William, the main character, is exploring the rooms, but he doesn't wants to go in the dark areas. Your role is to allow him to exit the manor.

Gameplay: You are a friendly ghost. You live in frames and pictures, and can only interact with some of the objects of the room, looking at them. Some will move, some will trigger lights... The rules are:

  • You activate objects at the center of the screen, looking at them. Beware to activate the good objects, and so check where you are looking at
  • Character won't move if the area in front of him is not lighted and safe
  • If there is not light where he is, he'll try to go back, and if he cannot, he'll die of madness.
  • You can "jump" from frame to frame, each frame only allows you to see certain parts of the room.
  • You cannot jump in a frame if it is lighted (as you hate light)
  • You can interact with furniture, switches, and other objects
  • On later rooms, some other ghosts will try to kill William, you'll have to kill them using light

Example: In this room, character on the tom need to reach exit on the bottom.

You begin as a ghost in "picture frame 1", but you can "jump" to another frame in sight Concept Concept Concept

  • Interact with curtains in order to let the light in
  • Interact with switch to light the ceiling light
  • Interact with the desk to push it

And... Beware to not look for too long at light sources, or you could burn your eyes!
