My solution is called white knight and troll, because it uses multiple techniques to guard the user from robocalls. The idea is shown in the figure below. The system is designed to effectively block robocallers, but cause minimal inconvenience for friends & family & authorized callers. The system is designed to be installed on the user’s phone. It could be incorporated into new phones. It could also be designed as an “app”, making it fast and easy to roll-out.
The first line of defense is a WhiteList. If the caller fails the WhiteList, then a Captcha technique tests to see whether the user is human. If the caller is human, he is put through to the receiver, and automatically added to the WhiteList.
