🎯 The Challenge: A Reddit-Native Social Experiment

WhisperOrShout is a UGC Game built with Devvit Web for the Reddit Fun & Games Hackathon. It turns user-generated text into a daily social experiment that sparks discussion, memes, and self-reflection — all within an Interactive Post.

Every 24 hours, users are asked a bold, thought-provoking question:

"What would you do if you could be invisible for one day?"
"Which app would you delete from everyone’s phone?"

They respond in one of two ways:

  • Whisper → answer anonymously (stored privately)
  • Shout → post it publicly as a comment

The tension between secrecy and honesty creates a living snapshot of Reddit culture.

🧩 How It Works

  1. Daily Refresh: A new question is randomly selected every 24 hours.
  2. User Choice: Players choose Whisper (private) or Shout (public).
  3. UGC in Action:
    • Whisper responses are aggregated (no PII stored).
    • Shout responses become real comments, fueling discussion.
  4. Live Stats: A built-in dashboard shows:
    • % who whispered vs. shouted
    • Common themes in whispers
    • Top public confessions
