I moved to a new city and needed an easy way to find events near me

What it does

It locates you and shows events happening around you. You can filter by category

How I built it

I built it using react-native-maps by air bnb combined with the facebook and meetup apis

Challenges I ran into

Facebook does not allow you to directly get events. I had to first get venues and then get events happening at those venues

What's next for Whimsy

Making more unique categories with which to filter events.
