We've all had those times where we look into the fridge and think, "wow I have nothing to eat". In reality though, we often have a lot of great stuff lying around that might not seem like much on their own, but together and with some direction, can result in a delicious meal.

WhereTheRecipeAt is a set of recipe recommendation apps that allows users to input the ingredients they have and it returns a bunch of great recipes for you to try out. Best of all, we use image recognition APIs and a large food database to allow you to take a picture of your food or even your fridge and automatically recommend recipes that you can make with what you have.

We use Parse as our backend and wrote two versions of the app: in iOS and Android. In addition, we utilize the Pearson Culinary Recipe API, Socrata's Open Dataset for Epicurious' Food Dictionary, and Imagga's Image Recognition and tagging API.

We are really excited about the potential of these apps and are thrilled to share it with you today.
