We all know to well how difficult it is to find our advisors for course registration or getting credits approved. With the consent of one of our professors, we've built a web app that aims to keep students in the loop about where Colby Leider is on campus (when he enables his location to the site of course).
We used Google Maps Javascript API, as well as jquery to constantly ping his location. This information is recorded onto a server that continually updates students about where he is within the boundaries of campus. Once he steps off or disables his location, then his marker disappears, informing students that he's no longer available.
