Inspiration / What it would do

When2Scrim

The inspiration for When2Scrim comes from a use case many of us have had for it. We have all played collegiate esports in some way, shape, or form and found when2meet to be a very convenient means of scheduling meetings. But what if we could use that for scrims for when we wanted to face another collegiate team or rescheduled a match based on availability. As such, we planned to take https://www.when2meet.com and spin off of it by adapting teams and various other aspects like a corresponding discord bot for the web application, scrim finder, and more!

Esports Timeline

The inspiration for When2Scrim came from the Liquidpedia API workshop when Jasper went into detail about the variety of information you can grab from there. The matches really caught our eye and we felt it would've been really neat if we could use that information alongside some sort of metric to single out the most important esports matches in history. We planned to have the interface categorized by game and then a timeline layout & organized details about each event in the timeline.

What it does

How we would build these web applications

We would likely use

  • html/css/js + Angular
  • Discord.js + node
  • tailwind css
  • any other requirements

What's next for When2Scrim / Esports Timeline

While we didn't have a chance to develop these ideas this time around, I really hope that we get around to doing it another time as we really enjoyed the potential shown by our ideas. We would also like to mention that we thoroughly enjoyed learning about Liquipedia's API and enjoyed the themes presented in this hackathon.
