Inspiration
This winter, I wanted to recreate a Christmas scene using the Renaissance art style.
What it does
- It's a 3D scene made using Blender.
- I've used the Renaissance art style.
- Shows an old living room graced by Santa.
How I built it
- I built it using Blender & Photoshop.
- Modelling
- The basic geometry modelling of the chair, furnace & candle was done.
- This was followed by bevelling, application of modifiers etc.
- Sculpting
- The christmas tree was made by sculpting a couple of spheres into the branches and leaves.
- Cushions were sulpted into the chairs.
- Texturing
- The texturing was done in the Renaissance art style.
- The goal was to give the models an old, pixelated look.
Challenges & accomplisments we ran into
- I had to research quite a bit on the Renaissance art style and the paint styles used in that period.
- Rendering took lots of time and resource.
What we learned
- I learned quite a bit about arit in the Renaissance period.
- I improved my Blender skills.
- Learned about various texture painting techniques.
What's next for When Santa Came
- I want to create more scenes using the same style
- With more time I plan to expand on the current scene and add models & animation too.
