In the UK, learner drivers face a hidden penalty on test day: instructors charge between £180 and £250 just to hire their car for a two-hour practical exam. With massive DVSA test backlogs, learners who secure last-minute cancellation slots frequently have to cancel because their regular instructor is unavailable. Meanwhile, hundreds of qualified instructors have empty diary gaps between lessons. We built WheelPass (formerly WheelShare) to bridge this divide—creating an on-demand marketplace where learners hire DVSA-compliant, dual-control cars for test day and practice sessions at a fraction of the cost, while instructors monetize idle vehicle time.
