Inspiration
In light of No Way Home, I thought it would be fun to create a game that tests your Marvel trivia. It's simple but puzzling, and if you're not an MCU superfan, it's not the easiest to figure out. Yes, most people have seen the movies, but how well do you know the iconic lines?
What it does
It's a much more complicated version of Hangman. You're given a quote to guess, and you have to puzzle it out before the computer can. Consonant guesses are free, but vowels cost $10. If you're clever enough to know the whole phrase, you can make -- or lose -- $100. Whoever reaches $500 first wins!
Challenges I faced
There were plenty of loopholes in the way a user could input a guess, such as capital letters, phrases, and random gibberish. I also had to optimize the computer's chance of winning, ensuring that it wouldn't make repeated guesses.
How I built it
It's a console application in Python, built using Repl.it.
What's next
The first step is to add a feature for hints, such as showing which movie the quote is from or which character said it. I'd also love to implement GUI!
