Inspiration
Of course, inspired by the famous game, The Wheel of Fortune, we wanted to create an even better version of the game, adding more features and interesting aspects using java on the simple platform, DrJava. We had a lot of ideas on how we can make it more engaging and we decided to give it a try and code the basic structure of the game.
Game Created: November 2017
Features
-10-second timer to limit the player's time to guess a letter
-3 categories in which words can be chosen from
-Option to play with 2 to 3 players and 2 to 5 rounds
-Wheel of Fortune includes money amounts ranging from 400-900 dollars, including the option for bankruptcy and skipping a turn
-Calculates the winner of the game based on the combined score in all rounds
-The final option to continue the game with the same players, new players, or end the game
What's next for Wheel of Exceptional Fortune
To add graphics and design to the game to make it more appealing to play. We are thinking of transferring it to a different platform and adding even more bonus elements to the game.
Usage
-Quite simple (and tedious) since we only used this basic platform
- Download the zip file from the GitHub link
- Install Dr.Java 2016 or higher
- Open the file "WheelOfFortuneGame.java"
- Compile, Run and enjoy!
