Inspiration:
My mother used to be a pilot but wasn't able to fly in america after failing a physical for what they thought was eye cancer. I hope to increase accuracy in this field.
What it does
The program predicts, based on surgical photos, whether or not the individual has glaucoma.
How we built it
Built it using a neural network. Fed it images:https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/arnavjain1/glaucoma-datasets/data
Challenges we ran into
Getting enough accuracy and finding the right threshold.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building this all in one night. We almost gave up multiple times but we got it. We did start it at 2AM though.
What we learned
How to use flask, the importance of preproccesing, and that we shouldn't procrastinate starting till the last second.
What's next for WhatsInYourEye
Training the model on a bigger dataset to increase its accuracy. Maybe make it able to take head on pictures of the eye and predicting from there.
