Inspiration

We wanted to connect other people with the goal of making Charleston a more interconnected enviornment.

What it does

User geolocation data is collected to generate a heat map that shows density concentrations of users in "hot spots."

How we built it

We used Replit which is a cloud sharing IDE and Mapbox to generate an embeded map.

Challenges we ran into

A severe lack of experience meant we ran into just about every challenge there is to come with web development. Specifically a lack of knowledge of HTML, JS, and CSS languages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that even got words on a page.

What we learned

We learned a lot about about full stack development and how all the backend and frontend pieces fit together.

What's next for WhatsHot

Expanding to a national scale and garnering more users to create a more valuable product of interconnectivity.
