Inspiration: The term WhatsApp University is used to make fun of people dependent on social media. The fact that social media can't be trusted. From that common name, I got the idea to help someone to do their homeworks.

What it does

User can take a picture of maths problem and send to the number. The AI will reply and explain the answer.

How we built it

I used a built in ML module to run as backend engine to solve the problems. The code is written in Node JS and the model is written in Python.

Challenges we ran into

Initially I was trying to read a pdf and extract all data to answer user queries. But the cost and availability of data was too much for an individual. I found an open source model and used that with their permission in my project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am new to AI/ML and I am happy I could make something I imagined.

What we learned

Learning is a process, a never ending process.

What's next for WhatsApp Math Solver

I will try to translate in Bengali so that students can study in their own language.
