Inspiration
One of us was really hungry and needed something to eat. We are blessed with restaurants with different kinds of food, but as it happens when there are too many options, we were spoilt for choice #firstworldproblems. We thought,"Hey! It would be nice to have a food generator which can help me decide!" Hence, this idea was born.
Food emojis give you open-ended suggestions - allowing you to use your creativity to think of what to eat!
What it does
Our filter helps you figure out what you want to eat. Open our filter and shake your head to get new suggestions!
How we built it
We built it using Facebook's Spark AR Studio.
Challenges we ran into
- Setting up something we had no idea about (AR).
- Getting the assets to work according to our idea.
- Tracking gestures and adding the desired features to it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're glad that we finally solved the logic behind this Spark AR effect! The hardest part was to finalize the features and test out what can work and what can't. We have proudly been able to come up with sustainable features that we can present.
What we learned
We learned how Spark AR works, use the power of AR technology and go crazy with it.
What's next for What To Eat?
Eventually, users can use the geolocation feature to tag their favorite restaurant and cafes. We could also help do social good by raising awareness of hunger and minimizing food wastage.
So... Here are some use cases for you to try out using our filter:
- Promote a cause. Make an impact.
- Can't decide? Ask your friends!
- Elevate your brand.
- Share great coffee spots with your friends.
- Get creative.
