Inspiration
The inspiration came from a project I made for the #100DaysOfCode challenge. It used the OpenWeatherMap API to get the weather of a location.
What it does
It is a discord bot that displays the temperature of a location entered by the user.
How I built it
I built it using Autocode and OpenWeatherMap API.
Challenges I ran into
I hadn't used APIs with JavaScript before so it took a lot of googling and following tutorials to get the code working. Another challenge was to take input from the user, properly format that data and feed it into the OpenWeatherMap's API.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud that I debugged all the errors by myself. There were quite a lot of them but I managed to solve them all!
What we learned
I learnt how to use APIs in JavaScript by using proper HTTP requests, reading documentation, using Autocode, debugging, and finding out solutions to problems by doing extensive googling! 😸
What's next for What's the Weather Today?
I am going to further parse the data received from the API and use it to display meaningful results.
