Inspiration

We were inspired by current events in Israel and Palestine and the ongoing tension between Hamas and Israel and we wanted to research more in depth about them whilst creating an informational website.

What it does

It includes a homepage, a tab menu of different sub-webpages with a drop-down menu for one tab, and a resources webpage. It also contains a fact generator that displays random facts with the click of a button.

How we built it

We used the platform called Replit to build our website. We coded it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into various challenges while building it. One big problem for us was time because we spent half the time researching and half the time building and designing the website. Another problem was that the website wasn't appearing the way that we wanted it to. For instance, our website layout was not formatted well because we haven't coded in CSS in a while, but we eventually fixed our website layout.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of how our website looks and we are proud that we got a lot of features we planned to implement completed and fully functioning, such as the fact generator and drop-down menu.

What we learned

We learned how to create a drop-down menu and some of us were able to learn from each other how to code in HTML and CSS as we were mostly new to it.

What's next for What's Happening in Palestine

We plan to study Palestine and its history more in depth and modifying our website according to new information and live updates in Gaza.
