Inspiration

The rapid rate of global warming is caused by excessive emission of greenhouse gases. The current climate emergency demands response not only from large organisations, but also from individuals.

What it does

It calculates the carbon footprint of an individual from their household and vehicle energy usage.

How we built it

I obtained equivalent CO2 values from Wikipedia, requested inputs from the user such as type of energy used and energy useage, and calculated the footprint using an equation.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to find reliable data to extract CO2 equivalent values from.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The program generates graphs to show energy alternatives to reduce an individual's carbon footprint.

What we learned

I learned how to make the code interactive through input and menu commands.

What's next for What is your CO2 footprint?

I would like to expand it to calculate the footprint caused by food consumed.
