Inspiration

Events information across UBCO is scattered all over the place. Sometimes, students do not even know about their existence, as many clubs lack exposure to the public.

What it does

We develop a website that puts all UBCO student-made events together, making it easier for clubs to connect and for you to choose your best fit.

How we built it

We designed the UI/UX in Figma. Our color palette is in yellow, black, and white with a neo-brutalism style. Next, we coded the website using HTML and CSS based on the design references we built in Figma before publishing it online with domain.com.

Challenges we ran into

Coding in 48 hours has always been a challenge! For some of us, this was our first time designing in Figma and coding in HTML/CSS, but we tried our best to make it happen.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created that website and published it online! We turned the prototype from Figma into a real website using HTML and CSS.

What we learned

We learned much about Figma, HTML, and CSS and published it online with a real domain. Also, we found out that working in a team made things easier as we divided tasks into designing, coding, and publishing the website.

What's next for What Is Up UBCO?

We will learn JavaScript to improve our website with animation, giving better experiences for users. Also, we will work with all UBCO clubs to provide them with a place to promote their events.
