What If? was born from a simple observation: the internet is full of tools that help you do things, but almost nothing that helps you feel things.
I built three short, intimate AI-powered experiences - each one designed to stop you for a moment and ask a question you didn't know you needed to answer.
PARALLEL YOU
You fill in your birth year, country, and three personality traits. The AI generates three parallel life stories - lives you might have lived if fate had placed you somewhere else. A medieval scholar in France. A game designer in Tokyo. A botanist on Mars. Each story is written in second person, pulling you into a life that almost was. You can listen to each story read aloud, translate it into your language, and share it with someone who knows you.
YOUR OBITUARY FROM THE FUTURE
You tell the app your name, your age, your passions, and the one thing you wish you'd done more of. The AI writes your obituary - from the year 2090. It's warm, slightly humorous, and strangely moving. It invents an award you received, imagines the adventures you went on, and ends with a quote the world will remember you by. A sepia-toned AI portrait of your elderly self appears beside it. You can hear it read aloud, and download the full newspaper layout as a keepsake.
THE MUSEUM OF UNFINISHED THINGS
A community gallery for everything we never finished. You submit a title, a type (a story, a song, a relationship, a dream), and a short description. The AI writes a beautiful 150-word ending for your unfinished thing and generates a painterly portrait to represent it. Your exhibit joins a growing gallery of human moments - each one proof that unfinished doesn't mean meaningless.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
What If? was designed to feel like nothing else on the web. A dark cosmic aesthetic with animated starfields, shooting stars, and warm gold accents runs through every page. A light ethereal theme is also available for those who prefer warmth over mystery. Every interaction - from the loading messages ("Rewriting your fate...", "Consulting the future...") to the newspaper layout of the obituary - was crafted to feel human, poetic, and worth lingering in.
