Inspiration
The idea came from a personal experience. I was trying to solve a problem, had explored every option I could think of, and still wasn't getting anywhere. I kept wondering whether there were possibilities I simply hadn't considered. I wanted something that could help me look at a situation from completely different angles, rather than keep circling through the same ideas.
What it does
What Else? helps people who feel stuck discover new possibilities. Five AI agents use different thinking approaches to generate, challenge and build on each other's ideas. Users can explore suggestions, select promising directions and turn them into experiments to find out what actually works.
How I built it
I designed the application around a multi-agent workflow, with different agents contributing different perspectives. One of my main constraints was to build something I could use within my existing Claude subscription, without paying for additional AI services or API usage.
I used AI-assisted development to build and test the application, refining the requirements and workflow as I went.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was balancing the multi-agent approach with the practical constraints of running the application without additional AI costs. I also wanted to make sure the process went beyond generating interesting ideas and helped users identify possibilities they could actually test.
What I learned
This project gave me an opportunity to experiment with multi-agent workflows and explore how different AI thinking approaches can work together on the same problem. It also reinforced that generating ideas is only part of solving a problem. The real value comes from finding something worth trying and learning from the outcome.
What's next
I'll continue testing What Else? with real-world challenges and refining the workflow based on what proves useful.
