Inspiration
Games are a great way for people to connect to each other, what better way than to allow them to hold onto a plushy and whap it to become friends.
What it does
Two players sit on opposite sides of the cube and hold it off of the ground. Each player is a color (purple or orange). Each player has two places it can hit, yellow or green. Lock yourself in by touching both of the yellow and green conductive fabric on your player side. A countdown will occur that will then show either yellow or green. As fast as you can (and before your opponent), hit the correct color the LED star shows you. If you hit the correct color before your opponent, you get a point. If you hit the wrong color before your opponent, they get the point. The winner is the first player to get to five points. The winner will be basked in the glow of a rainbow color light show as well as their player color and have a few seconds to publicize their victory before the game will start over again.
How I built it
The soft plushy body is made of multicolored wool and conductive fabric sewn together. The LEDs are NeoPixel using a Flora arduino as the controller.
Challenges I ran into
Using conductive threads instead of wire meant the thread could get crossed easily (and create smoke).

What I learned
What's next for Whappy Cube
Getting it hooked into battery power and into the internets of course. If I had a way (whatever physical device I would need to communicate with the internet or computer, to either a web server or Unity video game executable, I would then make a score tracker of who was winning or who won the turn.
