Hackathon Event Proposal
1. Event Overview
A hackathon is an innovation event centered on teamwork and rapid development. Participants are required to design, develop, and present a project based on a given theme within a limited period of time.
The theme of this event is:
Artificial Intelligence for a Smarter Campus
Participating teams may use technologies such as artificial intelligence, large language models, mobile applications, the Internet of Things, and data analytics to develop innovative solutions that improve learning, research, or campus life.
2. Event Schedule
- Registration Deadline: July 20
- Development Period: July 25–26
- Project Presentation: 7:00 p.m., July 26
- Results Announcement: 9:00 p.m., July 26
3. Participation Requirements
- Each team must consist of 2 to 5 members.
- The main functions of the project should be developed during the event.
- Teams may use open-source frameworks, public datasets, and third-party APIs.
- Projects must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Each team must submit the source code, project documentation, and presentation materials.
4. Submission Materials
Each team must submit the following materials:
- Project title
- Team member information
- Project background and objectives
- Description of core functions
- Technical architecture
- Project source code
- Demonstration video
- Presentation slides
5. Evaluation Criteria
| Criterion | Weight | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Innovation | 25% | Originality and creativity of the project |
| Practicality | 25% | Ability to solve a real-world problem |
| Technical Completion | 25% | Completeness, stability, and functionality |
| User Experience | 15% | Clarity and usability of the interface |
| Presentation | 10% | Quality of explanation and demonstration |
6. Sample Project
Intelligent Learning Assistant
This project uses a large language model to provide students with course-related question answering, knowledge summarization, study plan generation, and mistake analysis.
The main technologies include:
- Frontend: Vue or React
- Backend: Python FastAPI
- Database: MySQL
- Large Language Model: OpenAI API or another model service
- Knowledge Base: Vector database and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
7. Important Notes
- Participants are encouraged to configure their development environments in advance.
- Teams should assign tasks appropriately and back up their code regularly.
- Presentations should focus on the problem being solved and the main innovations of the project.
- Teams may still present their completed core functions even if the entire project is not finished.
Use technology to solve real problems and creativity to build new possibilities.
