Inspiration

The 1985 NES game Ghosts 'n Goblins served as the main inspiration for Western Specter. A 2D platformer that has you try to survive various enemies who are very challenging.

What it does

Set in the Deep South, Western Specter is a game where you play as Secret Service Agent Marty Texas who has to fight off a plethora of enemies. Such as "zomboys" (zombies) and "yee-ghouls" (ghouls).

How we built it

We split up the work load and worked at different stages of Godot, animation, sprites, and music.

Challenges we ran into

None of us have a really solid background in coding, so everything was sort of a challenge. We are just happy to have had this experience and to have something finished! :)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We had never worked with Godot previous to this weekend, so we worked really hard to get where we are.

What we learned

Our group learned code. (Which is pretty crucial for a hackathon haha)

What's next for Western Specter

We want to wrap up finalizing the game (making levels) and to make it feel complete as a solo game. Canned Carpet Studio (our group) aim to make video games in the future. As of right now this is a prototype build.
