Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from recognizing that many underprivileged communities struggle to access healthcare services due to economic and geographical barriers. We hope that with the support of volunteer doctors and our free medical check-up programs, these communities will find it easier to receive the healthcare they need. Additionally, by selling their handcrafted goods through our website, we aim to improve their crafting skills and boost their economic situation. The high level of sympathy and empathy among Indonesians to help one another also played a significant role in the creation of this platform.

What it does

WeShare facilitates accessible healthcare access and economic empowerment for low-income communities by offering workshops for crafts, providing free medical check-ups, and distributing free meals. We collaborate with volunteer doctors, donors, and government health agencies to support these initiatives.

How we built it

WeShare started through the establishment of significant alliances with public health organizations, hospitals, and impoverished areas. To establish and continue our services, we made use of funding contributions, medical expertise, sponsorships, and volunteer assistance. To effectively reach and serve our target audience, we use both offline and online platforms as our channels.

Challenges we ran into

Combining the various backgrounds and areas of expertise of our four team members was one of the biggest challenges we encountered. Since each of us brought a different set of experiences to the table, there were times when our perspectives and methods diverged, making it challenging to decide on a cohesive course of action. Furthermore, we encountered difficulties in finding partners for UI/UX design, which hindered our capacity to develop a clear and user-friendly interface. Moreover, our backend development efforts were constrained by having only one person dedicated to this crucial aspect, leading to an increased workload and potential bottlenecks in our development process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were previously unaware of the humanitarian struggles that many people, particularly the less fortunate, face. But taking part in this hackathon has made us aware of how much help is needed in our communities, especially for the underprivileged. Our application's development is a source of great pride because it seeks to significantly impact Indonesia. The application creates a lifecycle where users can support the less fortunate through donations, and in turn, these communities benefit the donors as well. Furthermore, none of the team members had any prior experience with our tech stack when it came to this application. To the best of our abilities, though, each of us has put in a lot of work. We are proud of the teamwork it took to overcome these obstacles and create a solution that, in our opinion, will have a significant influence, even with the learning curve.

What we learned

We found that a large number of underprivileged individuals still do not have access to basic healthcare facilities and services. It took a team effort involving cooperation from multiple stakeholders to address these needs. We discovered that carrying out our social mission successfully necessitates coordinating a number of stakeholders and resources, which complicates the procedure. The project made us more conscious of the difficulties experienced by people who lack access to basic healthcare, highlighting the significance of comprehending and resolving these disparities. We realized that a systemic, multifaceted approach was required to achieve sustainable improvements in healthcare access. The initiative also emphasized how crucial it is to distribute resources effectively in order to maximize impact. Finally, the project demonstrated the challenges of expanding healthcare solutions for a wider audience and the importance of meticulous planning and execution for a successful outcome.

What's next for WeShare

We will expanding WeShare. In addition to our current efforts aimed at human welfare, our future plans include initiatives dedicated to environmental sustainability. Our goal is to create eco-friendly services and initiatives that support environmental preservation. As part of our effort to make the world a healthier place for coming generations, we are promoting sustainable practices, lowering our carbon footprint, and looking into creative solutions.
