WELOS is an integrated urban resource system designed for UAE rooftops and similar sun-rich environments.
It combines three resources within one coordinated platform:
- Solar generation through an inclined photovoltaic surface
- Urban wind harvesting using a compact vertical-axis turbine
- Rainwater collection, filtration, storage, and reuse
An edge controller connects these systems. It monitors weather, solar output, battery state, wind, water levels, and panel soiling to decide how to route energy and water.
Key capabilities include:
- Prioritizing household loads and battery charging
- Optimizing equipment sizes for cost or energy autonomy
- Detecting solar-panel performance losses from dust
- Using stored rainwater for condition-based panel cleaning
- Simulating performance across clear, dusty, and rainy conditions
The core idea is:
Not three separate systems—one coordinated resource loop.
The current MVP includes a cinematic product website, an interactive energy simulation, weather scenarios, a 24-hour dispatch model, and a design optimizer that evaluates 336 solar, wind, and battery configurations.
