Inspiration

I started this hackathon a little bit late, and honestly, at the beginning I didn’t even know what idea to work on. I was stuck and unsure how to start.
Everything changed when I looked closely at the sponsor challenge. That gave me direction. Instead of overthinking, I decided to focus on what the sponsor wanted and let my creativity grow from there. One idea I was especially excited about was adding a voice call feature, which made the project feel more interactive and real.

What I Learned

This project taught me a lot—not just technically, but mentally as well.

  • How to work under time pressure
  • How to deal with unexpected API errors
  • How to search, debug, and adapt quickly
  • How challenging (and brave) it is to build a project completely alone

How I Built the Project

Since I was working solo, I had to manage everything by myself—from the idea to implementation.

  • I first aligned my idea with the sponsor challenge
  • Then I started building core features step by step
  • I experimented with adding a voice call feature
  • I tried integrating Google Maps to show nearby locations
  • I worked with multiple APIs to connect everything together

Even though I couldn’t finish all features, I focused on building as much as I could within the limited time.

Challenges I Faced

This hackathon was not easy, especially as a lone hackathoner.

There were moments where things didn’t work at all, but I kept going.

Final Thoughts

I didn’t manage to finish everything I planned, but I truly tried my best. Starting late and working alone made this hackathon challenging, but also meaningful. I pushed myself, learned new things, and didn’t give up. Even if the project isn’t perfect, the experience was worth it and I’m proud of what I built on my own =
